How to Succeed in the IB Diploma Programme

3 September 2026

The IB Diploma Programme is one of the most respected high-school programmes in the world, known for its academic depth and heavy workload. The key to success is understanding its structure and building a steady study rhythm from day one.

Choose subjects strategically

Your HL (Higher Level) subjects should match your university goals. A future engineer is expected to take Maths AA HL and Physics HL, while a business-minded student can stand out with Economics HL.

Do not leave IA and EE to the last week

Internal Assessments and the Extended Essay make up a significant share of the final diploma score — and they are far more manageable when spread across the calendar.

  • Reserve a weekly revision block for every subject
  • Agree IA topics with your teachers early
  • Meet your EE supervisor regularly
  • Note TOK connections during daily lessons
  • Practise with past exam papers

If you would like one-to-one support, explore our IB Academic Support Programme: subject revision, IA/EE guidance and exam preparation under one roof.
